New Forest venue the Balmer Lawn Hotel has launched a romantic Twilight package for couples looking for a chilled, intimate celebration. Couples can tie knot in the evening and celebrate afterwards with up to 50 guests. The package is available from Monday to Thursday and as well as the ceremony it includes the drinks reception and canapés, hot fork buffet or barbecue and DJ until midnight. General manager Michael Clitheroe says, "We have seen an increase in couples looking for a more intimate wedding experience and what better way to say, 'I do' than at twilight in the stunning New Forest!"

The Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset hosted its first ever wedding last year. Rachel and Daniel Titley said 'I do' at the museum in front of a Second World War tank, earning themselves a place in the venue's history book. Their son Adam played an important role and was able to pick his favourite tank for them to say their vows in front of.
"When we heard couples could get married at The Tank Museum, knowing how much Adam loves it there, made the choice simple for us.," says Rachel.

Southampton-based Olivia George bridal boutique has exciting new plans in the pipeline. From the end of 2021, the business is now focusing solely on plus-size bridal. Co-owner Carolyn Foster explains, "We already specialise in dresses up to size 28 and are now starting to phase out our smaller samples and will only stock dresses from size 14 up to 34. We're really excited about this, we already help lots of curvy brides to find their dream dress and our focus now is all about making sure we have plenty of styles available for then to try on."

Dorset's former Courtyard Bridal boutique has a new name and a new home. Owner Marie Bennett has rebranded the business and taken it back to its roots as The Bride's Wardrobe, the name she originally intended for it when she set up the company in 2016. She explains, "While shopping for my own wedding dress, I discovered a gorgeous little boutique up for sale, so I bought it lock, stock and barrel. As it was situated in a lovely courtyard I decided to keep the name and traded as Courtyard Bridal for almost six years."

Sisters Hollie Hulks and Olivia Kavanagh celebrated their first anniversary of launching their business Balloons by All Things Pretty in 2021. Since starting out in June 2020, making small personalised items, the balloons have taken off and are now the focus of the business. Full-time mum Hollie and Olivia, a professional dancer, started the enterprise during lockdown just to pass the time. Hollie says, "We never thought it would become our full time job. We love making occasions special and bringing couples' creations to life. Our aim is to create the perfect backdrop for picture-perfect moments."

A local businesswoman from Aldershot in Hampshire has defied the odds and opened a new Edwardian-themed beauty studio despite spending most of the last four months in lockdown. National award-winning hair and beauty artist Ema Doherty has provided mobile hair and makeup artistry to brides in Hampshire and Surrey for the past 25 years.
"Although it's been a tough year, I've taken the opportunity to review my business and have brought forward a plan to open a beautiful home salon," she reveals.

Hampshire-based Cocoa & Whey Cakes has moved, but don't worry they haven't gone far. The bespoke wedding cake company has relocated over the border near Blandford Forum in Dorset. Appropriately the business is now based in an 18th-century cottage called Little Batch! Run by cake designer, Penelope Hurst, Cocoa & Whey produce both sweet wedding cakes as well as delicious savoury ones and favours. Penelope says, "We will continue to serve all our usual clients and venues throughout Hampshire and Wiltshire as well as expanding into Dorset.

Owner Melinda Hollis is celebrating 21 years of the business and to mark the coming of age she's introducing a raft of new initiatives including a fresh new outlook on wellbeing.
