Showing support for couples and the wedding industry

Showing support for couples and the wedding industry: Image 1

Here at County Wedding Magazines HQ we were waiting with bated breath for a change in wedding guidance after more than three months in lockdown; and when the time came with very little change, it's left many couples wondering, when will we know more?

A staggering 75,000 weddings during the pandemic have been post-poned, a figure only set to rise after the government's announcement at the end of June in terms of the wedding industry.
York-based bride-to-be Jayde Glavocih is due to tie the knot in August, and with current guidelines as they are, will be unable to have her planned day. However, Jayde has started a petition: 'Allow wedding receptions to go ahead following hospitality guidelines' - which highlights that if pubs and restaurants, attractions and beaches can be filled with hundreds and thousands of people; why can't 100 people gather for a wedding reception, socially distanced, making sure all safety measures are in place like the rest of the hospitality sector?

Visit change.org and hopefully Jayde will reach her goal and get her petition in front of Boris Johnson.

RSVPing 'YES' to multiple weddings? Here's how to budget!

Attending weddings can be a joyous occasion, but it can also be expensive, particularly if you're invited to more than one over the course of the year. Costs such as new outfits, travel and accommodation, and gifts mean the overall expense of attending can quickly add up. Duncan Fortune, Head of Commercial at Tesco Bank, says: "Wedding season can be a significant expense for households. Planning ahead and setting a dedicated budget for celebrations can help spread the cost over several months, allowing people to make the most of the celebrations while keeping their finances on track."
