The New Forest's Balmer Lawn Hotel is hosting a virtual wedding showcase to make sure newlyweds-to-be don't miss out on the chance to check out the venue for their big day.

Set in the glorious National Park, the hotel in Brockenhurst, Hampshire is a wedding destination hotspot and hosts regular showcases every two months to give couples an insight into the array of must-see wedding spaces. Usually guests are welcomed with a glass of fizz on arrival before enjoying a tour of the range of facilities for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Wedding coordinator Ruth Mundy explains, "We were devastated that our couples were going to miss out on the May showcase, therefore with everything else being adapted virtually during these difficult times we thought, why not?"

The Virtual Wedding Showcase is being held on Sunday 17th May from 11am and will include a virtual show round of the hotel, presentations from recommended suppliers and a live Q&A with Ruth. Great for prospective couples itching to begin or restart their wedding planning, join them at www.instagram.com/balmerlawnweddings and www.balmerlawnhotel.com/weddings

The temporary closure of hotels and venues has been challenging for the whole industry, however the Balmer Lawn team has been putting the time in lockdown to good use by helping the local community. As well as providing a free delivery service of essential items, the team has also been homing in on all their various skills to share top tips from creating 'Your Spa at Home' by head therapist Leanne to Ruth's helpful hints on "How to Play Your Wedding During Lockdown'.

After three years as the hotel's wedding coordinator Ruth has felt the pain of all her couples who've had to postpone their celebrations this year and as a special gesture has been sending them a special gift and personal message to mark their original wedding day. She's also been offering virtual consultations for prospective wedding couples which prompted the idea for the virtual showcase.
