The Japanese theme is an emerging big-day trend bringing a touch of the exotic to weddings according to award-winning bridal hair and make-up expert Caroline Swaffield of Dorset-based Amazing Face.

Caroline and a group of talented local wedding suppliers got together to create a beautiful Japanese fusion photo shoot at The Larmer Tree wedding venue to showcase creative ways to incorporate the theme into your wedding day.

"Inspiration for the shoot was soft English rose with a pop of Japanese fusion. Looking at the bridal shows we knew the Japanese theme would be big for weddings moving forward and we added our own touch of magic with a beautiful updo hairstyle adorned with beautiful blousey orchids and small touches of alluring Asian mystery for the eye make-up."

Cake maker Helen Jalim of Cakes by Helen in Dorset showstopping tiered creation featured Japanese blossom, deep mulberry peonies and white camellias teamed with a touch of gold on the leaves and delicate white piping to complement the theme and provide a dreamy, elegant look.

The flowers by Jessie Copper of West Dorset Wedding Flowers centred around a palette of varied pink, white an pinot noir tones. "I was able to draw on seasonal touches such as Dorset-grown black elder leaves, my home-grown white Montana clematis and spiraea, alongside fruit-tree blossoms which are central to the Far East look," adds Jessie.
