It's Single Awareness Day and new research has revealed that married men take better care of themselves than the nation's singletons!
The research conducted by male grooming brand men-ü found that married men have better skincare routines, pamper themselves more and are most likely to consider a hair transplant.
While married men came out on top with grooming, singles trailed behind. More singletons spend less on their haircuts with more than half (55%) spending under £15 on keeping their barnets trim while a quarter are really watching the budget and cutting it themselves!
Married men on the other hand are more likely to be organised and keeping their hair in shape with regular booked appointments (21%). Not only do they invest more time and money on keeping their hair in shape but they are also more likely to consider a hair implant (10%) and to pamper themselves with manicure or pedicure treatments (16%).
Where cosmetic procedures are concerned, married men may worry more about a full head of hair but singletons are preoccupied by their physiques and signs of ageing. The single men surveyed ranked highest for those considering liposuction (7%) as well as botox or fillers (5%).
The research surveyed 2,000 men across the UK and found that overall, only a third of guys (34%) said they spent more time grooming when they were single. Unsurprising as 50% of single men have an overall grooming product collection worth less than £30! Inclusive of aftershave, toiletries and skincare.
Most men said they take up to half an hour to get ready with men of the West Midlands making the least effort where 17% admitted doing nothing in terms of personal prep for a big night out. The North East have the highest proportion of males that are ready in just 15 minutes while conversely the capital is home to the most groomed men with 30% taking an hour to prep for a night out.
