Festival Place in Basingstoke is putting a new twist on one of Father's Day's most enduring traditions with a fun event taking place this Saturday, 20th June.
Between 11 am and 4 pm, visitors to the Hampshire shopping destination will have the chance to surprise a dad, stepdad, grandad, husband or father figure with a free pair of socks and capture their reaction. Spend £10 or more anywhere in Festival Place, take the receipt to the promotional unit and dad can lift the latch to reveal his mystery pair of socks.
Organisers are hoping to create plenty of memorable family moments while bringing a little humour to the day with this fun Father's Day tradition. Visitors are encouraged to photograph the moment and share their pictures on social media using the hashtag #FPSocks.
"Everyone jokes about dads getting socks for Father's Day, so we thought we'd embrace it and turn it into something fun," said Sian Fisher, Marketing Manager at Festival Place. "It's a simple idea but one that brings families together, creates memories and gives people a reason to smile."
Sian adds, "At Festival Place we're always looking for ways to create experiences that go beyond shopping. Whether it's events, entertainment, competitions or seasonal activities, we want visitors to know there's always something new happening here. Father's Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the special people in our lives while having a bit of fun at the same time."
Festival Place is home to more than 140 shops, restaurants and leisure attractions and regularly hosts events, family activities and seasonal experiences throughout the year.
The Father's Day event takes place on Saturday 20th June from 11am until 4pm. Visitors spending £10 or more in centre on the day can claim a pair of socks for Dad, while stocks last.
