Guiding the way towards rejuvenating treatments, soothing moments of calm (with adult-only options for parents seeking relaxation as children return to school) and spacious alfresco relaxation, Spabreaks.com shares its top spa choices opening on the 12th April and beyond:

Enjoy a pamper day at the luxurious Hoar Cross Hall with its Simply Spa Day. The new exclusive package ensures guests can enjoy an indulgent spa day, making use of the spa facilities from 8am - 8pm, which include experience showers and relaxation room as well as luxurious products provided in the changing rooms. Maximising the experience, guests can also enjoy Hoar Cross Halls's lush 50 acres of grounds and gardens in the Staffordshire countryside. With drinks and cakes available to purchase for enjoyment outside and guests welcome to bring their own picnic, relaxing outside is the perfect accompaniment to spa treatments. On departure, guests will be provided with takeaway refreshments and complimentary tea, coffee and water stations are available on the day.From £69 per person. Robe and towel provided. For those a little short on time, head for a relaxing spa afternoon at Ye Olde Bell, and enjoy three hour's use of the facilities to take some time out from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Cosy up on heated loungers, feel revitalised with experience showers or head to the outside vitality pool. After a dip in the pool, curl up with a book or favourite podcast in one of the outdoor wooden lounge huts, covered from the elements and nestled in front of fire pits to keep things toasty. From £60 per person. Robe, towel and slippers provided for three hour's use of facilities between 3-6pm.

The perfect way to wind down after a busy day, the Twilight Spa experience at Eden Hall will leave guests feeling refreshed. Guests can relax and unwind in the beautiful grounds with lush gardens and a tranquil lake view. Enjoy sampling the pampering products which are provided in the changing rooms, before making use of three hours' use of the spa facilities including outdoor hot tub, relaxation room and experience showers. Guests can also enjoy cake and refreshments to be purchased and consumed outside in line with government guidelines or are welcome to bring their own picnic.From £45 per person with robe, towel and slippers provided, access from 7pm -10pm. Adult-only spa.

Tranquil elegant and a real treat for the senses, Mottram Hall is the perfect place to seek a refreshing wellness boost. Spabreaks.com recommends the Morning or Afternoon Spa Experience, which includes one soothing 50-minute treatment from a choice of Revitalising Facial, Body Radiance, Luxury Manicure, Luxury Pedicure or Champneys Face and Body Ritual. The beautiful Georgian venue is also surrounded by elegant grounds and gardens totalling 270 acres in the Cheshire countryside, the perfect place for a quiet walk. Passing by the ornamental lake, soak up the beauty of the manicured gardens bursting with colour. Guests can enjoy use of the spa facilities between either 9am-1pm or 2pm-6pm, with robe, towel and slippers provided.

With a spread of excellent venues across the UK, a spa experience with Bannatyne will leave guests feeling refreshed and vitalised. Spabreaks.com recommends the Blissful Bundle package, available at venues including Bannatyne Weybridge Health Club. The experience includes use of the spa facilities as well as a 25-minute treatment from a choice of Swedish Back Massage or Bannatyne Facial, along with two 15-minute treatments from a choice of Scalp Massage, Foot Massage or Hand and Arm Massage.From £54.50 per person (minimum of two).

For those dreaming of sitting back in a sauna or steam room, the wait is a little longer as thermal facilities are allowed to reopen from 17th May. How much should you spend on a wedding gift? It seems the answer depends on just how well you know the happy couple. New research from One4all Gift Cards has revealed that almost half of Brits (49%) would spend less on a wedding gift if they were not particularly close to the couple. The relationship came out ahead of travel and accommodation costs (38%) and paying for a hen or stag do (28%) when it comes to factors influencing how much guests are prepared to spend. For those closest to them, Brits consider an average of £77 per person to be an acceptable wedding gift. The most popular amount was between £50 and £100, selected by 43% of respondents, while 36% believe spending up to £50 is perfectly acceptable. Just 5% would spend more than £200.

1 September is the most common wedding anniversary date, with an average of 1,557 marriages taking place on the date, new analysis has revealed. The research, from drinks and gifting retailer Bottled and Boxed, analysed 22 years of marriage registration data from the Office for National Statistics to identify the dates when couples across England and Wales are most likely to be celebrating their wedding anniversaries each year. Every date in the top 10 falls between late July and early September, showing how heavily the most common anniversaries are concentrated in late summer. August is the most common month for wedding anniversaries, accounting for 15.7% of all marriages analysed, with an average of 1,254 couples married per day.
