Newcomer to the Hampshire wedding scene, Mary Cox is set to celebrate her first anniversary at the helm of Twirl Bridal & Dress Boutique in Petersfield.
Mary took over the business in June last year after buying her own wedding dress there in 2016. She'd been working in secondary education for 20 years and was looking for a change of direction.
Following the loss of her mum and dad within seven months of each other, she discovered the business was up for sale and bought it. “I wanted to turn a very sad time into something positive and knew that my parents would have approved. I now have a lovely picture of them on their wedding day hanging up in the boutique.”
Since taking over, she's modernised the interior of the shop, keeping a vintage boutique vibe, rebranded, attended wedding fairs and even ran the fashion show at her first one.
“It's been a lot of fun and it's always a delight helping brides to find their dream dress,” she adds.
