Hampshire's Thruxton Race Circuit hosting retro race day

Looking for an alternative hen/stag or sten do? Then we have just the event for you! Thruxton Race Circuit in Hampshire is hosting its annual Thruxton Historic - a two-day event that showcases the finest historic and classic motor racing and displays in the country. The fastest race circuit in the UK, the event attracts legendary machines for 12 races, and this year for the first time, visitors will be able to enjoy vintage aircraft flying and displays as well as a flypast each day. And there's something for all the family to enjoy too, creating a really special weekend to remember!

There will also be racing on track from the Jochen Rindt Trophy, the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy, Historic Touring Car Challenge, Sixties Touring Car Challenge & U2TC, Pre '63 GT, Midget & Sprites Challenge, Jaguar Classic Challenge, a trio of races from the Historic Racing Drivers Club including the Jack Sears Trophy, Dunlop Allstars and Classic Alfa Challenge and much, much more.

The Land Rover Legends team will be featuring again this year as a separate side-show with some rare and unusual vehicles in unique displays as well as the National Land Rover Awards, an exclusive Land Rover parade on the race circuit and specialist exhibitors and traders. Land Rover Legends is the club that gives Land Rover lovers the best opportunity ever to showcase their vehicles, their enthusiasm and their stories and Thruxton is a major event in their calendar of special events.

Over 50 car clubs will be displaying all types of car and eras, providing a fascinating side-show., and new for 2022 is an aviation element to the event.

There'll be vintage aircraft including planes and helicopters flying in to form a static display each day. And The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also perform a Spitfire flypast each day. To find out more visit here.

Away from the racing and displays, there will be a host of family-friendly activities including, parades, simulators, circuit rides 4x4 rides, live music, free camping, a trade village and much more. Kids under 15 go free, too! You can also tune into all the action through Radio Thruxton, available on 87.7FM, with earpiece radios available to buy on-site. And for a relaxing break, there are plenty of places to find delicious food and drink, including in the new, state-of-the-art Thruxton Centre. Enjoy a snack, tasty treat with tea or coffee or a leisurely two-course lunch over a glass of wine in the restaurant overlooking the circuit.

Various types of ticket are available including a VIP package to include exclusivity of the upper floor and balcony of the Thruxton Centre (limited to a small number of places), admission into the Circuit, access to the Paddock, a free Race Meeting programme and food and drink (non-alcoholic) throughout the day. More events are planned to inspire and excite, including The British Trucks Race Meeting on 9th and 10th July (a festival of all things trucking with lots of family activities), The Bennetts British Superbike Championship 12th to 14th August (three days of unmissable bike racing) and the second of the British Touring Car Championship weekends on 27th and 28th August.

There are also Driving Experiences, Skid Pan, 4x4, Karting and more for people to enjoy throughout the year - another great hen/stag and sten do option for those looking to celebrate upcoming nuptials with an adrenaline-filled day out!
