Love among the boughs

Danni and Rich met through a dating app; she liked his cheeky-chappy look, he fell for her smile and the rest, as they say, is history!

Rich popped the question during a weekend away glamping. "While it was a very romantic setting, his timing wasn't particularly great as I was doing the washing up at the time!" laughs Danni. She said 'yes' though and to celebrate, they spent the day riding the rollercoasters at Alton Towers. They tied the knot at Careys Manor in the glorious New Forest on 3rd July this year. Read on for Danni's account of their big day...

Couple pose in drive We'd always dreamed of having a woodland wedding and Careys Manor is in a beautiful New Forest setting. It was close to our family and friends and the outside space was great for socialising.

Groom poses with car

"The car belongs to a family friend and is a very rare Jaguar XK 120. We're a family of car lovers so it was great to travel to the venue in it with my best man." – Rich

Exchanging vows

We both felt very nervous in the lead-up to the day, but having delayed it for almost a year, we were really looking forward to getting married.

Newlyweds pose with pet Our cockapoo Oakley joined us for a while, but he jumped up on my wedding dress with muddy paws before any photos had been taken!

Bridesmaid I wanted my bridesmaid to feel comfortable on the day so she wore a simple mint green dress.

Bride dress "My hair stylist and make-up artist were complete professionals and made me feel like a very special bride."

My dress was aptly named summer.

We trusted Owen from Little Lillies to guide us over the wedding flowers and we liked that he put a different twist on things.

Centrepiece and tablename

The tables were named after different types of trees and I worked with one of my friends to design the save-the-dates, invites and table plan.

Confetti "Mark and Sarah from Hampshire Wedding Hire were amazing. They supplied us with a sweet cart, table name holders and decorations, garden games, bows and so much more."

Chaircovers We wanted the centrepieces to be simple but elegant and to complement the forest theme.

Cake As a modern twist we had cupcakes instead of a traditional tiered cake and to ensure there was something for everyone, we had three different flavours; lemon, Victoria sponge, raspberry and white chocolate.

Couple on sofa "On the day, we were just grateful to be able to spend time with our friends and family and now that restrictions have been lifted, we're looking forward to our evening reception so we can have a good dance."
