Who’d have thought this time last year, that social distancing, face masks and hand sanitiser would ever be part of the big-day conversation. One thing to come out of the 2020 ’annus horribilis’ though is proof, if proof was needed, that love wins no matter what. Some couples have been opting to marry as soon as they can and party later, while others have postponed their weddings, keeping calm and planning on!

The Port House
Quayside location, tick; waterside views, tick; great food, tick. This versatile wedding venue has something to suit a whole range of big-day needs. Overlooking the Port Solent Marina, on a sunny day, looking out over the marina and the yachts, you could almost be in Monaco! There’s outside seating so you can make the most of the setting, a waterfront terrace and patio; perfect for reception drinks or a barbecue when the weather’s fine.
Inside the bright and airy space, the contemporary furnishing includes a bespoke bar made from reclaimed railway sleepers and a feature ceiling. Ceremonies are held in the Regatta Room or the larger Ocean Suite which can host up to 120 family and friends for your ‘I dos’ followed by a sit-down meal. For larger receptions with up to 300 guests, a marquee can be attached to the side.

|
Make your wedding magical at the beautiful Great Barn, Titchfield and make sure no one misses out on the magic. The historic Hampshire venue has introduced a live streaming service so couples can share their big day with family and friends from near and far. Built between 1408 and 1411, the Great Barn is one of the South Coast's most historic venues, reputedly visited by Shakespeare and also Henry V on his way to the battle of Agincourt. With oak beams and impressive architecture, it's not only heritage that's at the heart of the venue though, the live streaming service adds an extra something new to its attractions.
