Emile Chouriet has released a new watch

Emile Chouriet has unveiled a new watch: Image 1

Emile Chouriet introduces its Lac Leman Chronograph with striking blue tones. Named after the lake that is emblematic of Geneva and shared between Switzerland and neighbouring France, the Lac Léman collection pays tribute to the brand’s founder Emile Chouriet, who left France for Switzerland during the early years of Swiss watchmaking in the 17th century.

The newest reference to the line, the Lac Léman Chronograph Blue is a sporty-chic piece that exudes the timeless beauty and elegance of the Swiss Riviera. The polished 42mm steel case features Emile Chouriet’s signature stepped wing-shaped lugs, a touch of whimsical elegance on this contemporary chronograph. The rounded polished bezel is crafted from tungsten, a while metal that boasts superior durability and a uniquely bright metallic tone.

Like the Leman Lake on a sunny midsummer day, the dial is fashioned in an intense gradient blue with varying hues that darken towards the edges. Semi-translucent, the blue pigments are added on top of a sunray-pattern brushed metal surface that emphasizes the depth of the blue. Polished flat hour markers are fixed on the outer edges of the dial, perfectly complimenting the rounded and polished leaf-shaped hour and minute hands.

At the core of this Lac Léman reference is its chronograph function. Perfectly calibrated for timing a number of events and activities, the chronograph features a central seconds counter on the central axis, and a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock. A tachymeter scale is placed on the blue flange ring surrounding the dial, made for calculating speed based on time travelled over a fixed distance, perfect for timing sailing races among other things. And keeping with the nautical theme, an originally designed power reserve indicator is placed at the six o’clock position, in the form of a turning ship’s wheel with a small colour-tipped hand to mark the current level of autonomy.

The Lac Léman Chronograph is powered by the EC8658 calibre, an automatic chronograph movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. The case back features a sapphire crystal, offering a clear view of the integrated chronograph movement.

The perfect finishing touch to the azure tones of the Lac Léman Chronograph is its leather strap, fashioned in navy blue and embossed with an alligator scale motif and set on a folding steel buckle.
