The Elvetham
Dating back to the 11th century, The Elvetham boasts a fascinating past. The current house is a stunning example of Victorian architecture, full of original features including fireplaces, stained glass windows, oak panelled walls and a spectacular staircase. Set in 35 acres of landscaped gardens, with an avenue of yew trees, it’s surrounded by the 8,000-acre Elvetham estate and glorious Hampshire countryside offering a wealth of picture-perfect backdrops.
There’s a choice of fabulous spaces for ceremonies including the sumptuous Oak Room, which can host up to 120 people. With room for musicians at the front and back, and a built-in sound system, it provides an atmospheric setting for your ‘I dos’. Alternatively the secluded Summerhouse is an idyllic spot for an outdoor ceremony.
Celebrate in the Library surrounded by classical art and grand bookcases. One of the finest rooms in the house and the largest wedding space, it can accommodate up to 120 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. For more lavish affairs, you can hold a marquee reception for as many as 600 loved ones.
Did you know? On a visit to the house in 1591, Queen Elizabeth I planted an oak tree in the grounds that’s still there today.
